Mr. Draper’s Science Page

My name is Mr. Draper.  I have taught Science in the Public Schools for the past ten years. What an adventure it has been. It has been my pleasure to educate the future citizens of our society.  We have the privilege to be witnessing the greatest expansion of knowledge in human history.  The challenges and opportunities are unprecedented. I want to thank all my students for giving me the education of a lifetime. We learned a great deal together.

Events in our world are changing very rapidly. We all have a responsibility to be informed about our environment. Science is the key. Our very survival depends on it!

Editorial Comment

What if all children were motivated to achieve to their fullest potential? What if society valued education as it does sports entertainment? What if children saw the relevance in what they learned? What if we again led the world in science and math? What if we made ocean education a priority in this country? Perhaps we would give our children the future they deserve!

The kids deserve better!!

Students need to be motivated and treated with respect, not degraded and punished into submission!!

Comments from an Educator & Visionary

In the classroom or anywhere else that a student's intelligence, dignity or integrity are compromised by a teacher, administration, institution or a larger mind-set a state of "I Won't Learn From You" develops.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Something to think About!

Anyway

=======

 People are often unreasonable,

Illogical and self-centered.

Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind,

People may accuse

You of selfish motives;

Be kind anyway.

If you are successful,

You will win some false friends

And some true enemies;

Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank,

People may cheat you;

Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building,

Someone could destroy overnight;

Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness,

They may be jealous;

Be happy anyway.

The good you do today,

People will often forget tomorrow;

Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have,

And it may never be enough;

Give the world the best you have anyway.

You see, in the final analysis,

It is between you and God;

It never was between you and them anyway.

~Mother Teresa~
